Dr. Melody DeMent, D.C.
Dr. Melody, D.C. was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in marine biology. She worked for a number of years in an unrelated field while searching for a new career. During that time, she suffered from daily headaches and uncontrolled asthma. The medical profession was unable to help, so she decided to see a chiropractor at the prompting of a friend. It was determined that her spine was causing interference with the nerves that went to the lungs and bronchioles. Within a few months of starting chiropractic care, both her headaches and her asthma had decreased in both frequency and severity. A chiropractic adjustment worked quicker to alleviate an asthma attack than an inhaler! Once the nerve interference was gone, the lungs and bronchioles worked better. Dr. Melody’s overall health and quality of life had improved so much that it motivated her to become a chiropractor in order to help others to achieve the same. She has been asthma-free for over 15 years!
Dr. Melody attended New York Chiropractic College, where she met Dr. Scott. She graduated in 2000 and shortly thereafter, she and Scott were married. Dr. Melody has been certified in the Webster In-Utero Technique. This technique is performed on pregnant women and has had success in preventing breech births.
